Back in January, ORE4x4’s managing director, Chris McCormack, established a sister company called Oak Ridge Adventure, aimed at the outdoor/adventure equipment market. After ORE had earlier taken on distribution of the popular LTPRTZ (lighting) and Vickywood (roof tents, awnings and accessories) brands in the UK, McCormack decided it would make sense to separate the engineering and outdoor sides of the business, resulting in the creation of Oak Ridge Adventure to handle the latter.

The business model for the new venture is the same as ORE has been practising for the past five years – select and test what they believe to be some of the best products for each category, and then only stock a single winning brand.

Some of the early products that Oak Ridge Adventure (ORA) has already tested include the Nomadiq folding BBQ (a favourite with the ORE team for the past couple of years), while more research with other equipment is well underway. ORA has nailed down some agreements for exclusivity in certain markets and it looks set to be a busy year for the team.

Meanwhile ORE4x4’s product development and testing programme continues apace, with new equipment launches planned throughout the year.
