An ex-Royal Household Range Rover is looking for a new owner
The 2016 Loire Blue SDV8 Autobiography LWB with just 18,206 miles on the clock is being sold by Bramley Motor Cars for £224,850.
Expensive? Yes, but it is one of the most well-covered royal cars of the fleet, having made a very high-profile appearance during President Obama’s state visit to the UK in 2016. Prince Philip, who was accompanied by Her Majesty The Queen, drove it to meet President Obama and his wife Michelle as they stepped off Marine One after it landed in the grounds of
Windsor Castle.
It was prepared by the Land Rover Workshop at Gaydon where it would have been equipped with covert lighting and police emergency lighting, along with specially adapted fixed side steps and additional grab handles in the rear of the car to make it easier for Queen Elizabeth II to get in and out. The rear entertainment screens were also removed prior to the car being handed over to the Royal Household but refitted once the vehicle had been removed from service.
The aforementioned non-homologated lighting and steps have since been removed, but the grab handles used by Her Majesty were left with the car, which is a lovely touch. The warning sticker for the siren, which was located in the engine compartment, also remains, as a hint to this Range Rover’s previous life. It also retains its original registration number, that being OU16 XVH, so royalists will know you have a Range Rover with undisputed provenance.
