As some Land Rover parts become obsolete, enthusiasts need to make a plan and make replacements. LRM reader Miachael Essex recently manufactured a replacement rear fog light rubber buffer (MRC8301) for his SIII project. He used a friend’s original buffer, a standard fitment on the Series III County model, as an example, but can be fitted to all Series and Defender models. Michael is now producing the buffer for other enthusiasts. Price does not include postage but does include buffer, nyloc nuts, large washers and a fitting template with instructions. LONG RANGER

The Long Ranger fuel tank is the best way to increase the range of your diesel D3 or D4 especially if you plan on using it for very long trips to remote locations. The 104 litre tank is made from 2 mm aluminised steel and includes features such as internal baffling, anti-surge dam, in-built expansion chamber and fully sealed brackets. So now your diesel disco will be able to carry an astonishing 186 litres of diesel. Fuel is transferred via a pump. Note that you will have to move the spare tyre but no need to modify the exhaust system.

15 W work lamp. It has a power switch on the back and an operating voltage of 10-30 V. The maximum wattage is 15 W while the maximum current draw is 1.3 A at 12 V. Obviously it is waterproof thanks to the die cast aluminium housing and
Polycarbonate lens.
