To mark the 100th full commission of Bowler’s 90 Defender, the renowned tuner has released a fast road conversion.

The aptly named 100th Edition includes a number of bespoke features and is effectively an evolution of the Defender Challenge Rally Series vehicle made between 2014 and 2016.

Outside a Corris Grey protection pack for the bumpers, sills and rear steps, as well as a steering guard, helps to deflect nasty knocks, while its signature white 18-inch rally wheels shod in 285/60 BF Goodrich All Terrain rubber, LED spotlights and headlights, smoked side lights and repeaters, a bespoke graphics package, stainless steel fixings and badges (commissioned by artisan’s Fattorini nonetheless) smarten things up.

The makeover doesn’t stop when you open the door – the fully soundproofed cabin is fitted with Recaro SVX 60th Anniversary sports seats, leather dash tops, Momo Alcantara steering wheel and roof lining and an Alpine double din head unit with reverse camera.

Under the skin Bowler has fitted its Fast Road Suspension (consisting of bespoke Bilstein dampers, new springs, anti-roll bars and bushes), and Performance exhaust. The car’s Ford Duratorq turbo diesel engine is treated to Bowler’s Stage 2 upgrade that includes a race-spec intercooler and brings the power output up to 195bhp. Bowler’s big brake kit attends to stopping duties, while roll-over protection will keep occupants safe should an off-roading excursion not go to plan.

It’s worth nothing the base vehicle comes from an exclusive fleet within JLR and has undergone a comprehensive refresh by the Bowler Works Team. And the price for all this? £93,600 including VAT. For more details on the 100th Edition, contact Bowler on 01773 827 111 or email [email protected].
